Allan reports that he has received "only positive jealousy" from friends and colleagues, and very positive responses from clients looking to hire the CL5. He continues, "I hope to really add some colour with our new CL5. I really like the way Yamaha have integrated the best parts of their desks into the CL5. And I am really excited about using the Rupert Neve plug-ins."
Sam Simon-Norris, technical sales at LMC London comments, "The CL Series as a whole is a really exciting development from Yamaha; the consoles boast an impressive array of new features, including excellent new mic-pre amp sound quality, alongside Yamaha's superior build-quality and thoughtful design. I'm really pleased Steve has been one of the first to take a CL onboard, paving the way for a host of small to medium PA companies, not just the industry big boys, to take on the new generation of Yamaha consoles. The CL is sure to become an industry standard."
Discussing his experience purchasing from LMC London, Allan says, "I am really pleased with the genuine concern shown for my requirements, especially from Sam."
KDK Sounds has been providing sound services to the south-east for over 15 years, specialising in theatre sound, and building up a large portfolio of amateur and professional productions, including We Will Rock You, Wizard of Oz, Titanic, and many festivals including, recently, FOH for Keane at Hastings Beer Festival.
Allan comments, "The console will be used, primarily, as part of our hire stock inventory and I intend to use it for our upcoming shows and festivals." Most recently, KDK Sounds used the console as FOH for the headline act at Rye International Jazz festival, Ginger Baker Jazz Confusion, where it performed "magnificently", receiving a lot of attention from the audience, according to Allan.
