The Kinesys team at Frankfurt 2014 - Steve Fowler, Dave Weatherhead and Luis Diaz-Guerra Martinez
Germany - UK automation specialist Kinesys reports a busy and successful first Prolight+Sound exhibition in Frankfurt.

The manufacturer - which enjoyed substantial growth in 2013 - launched two important new products at the show, which together with their existing dynamic product ranges, attracted lots of interest and helped create a lively buzz in Hall 9 of the Messe exhibition centre.

"We were extremely pleased with the quantity and quality of the visitors to the exhibition and their international nature," comments Kinesys MD Dave Weatherhead, who was on the stand together with a team from Kinesys Sales and Projects.

Product marketing specialist Steve Fowler adds, "We met many new contacts as well as touching base with some of our existing clients, and have already had some serious inquiries as a result of being at the show."

Kinesys is known for its innovation and the two new products launched in Frankfurt were Velocity 2 drives and the Mentor range of SIL3 safety controllers, both of which received plenty of attention.

Velocity 2 drives provide a robust customised entertainment automation solution for open-loop or closed-loop control of induction, linear and servo motors for winches, turntables, elevators and other stage machinery.

Engineered to deliver power and performance to high-end automation machinery, the highly flexible Velocity 2 offers capacities from 0.75 kW to 110 kW with configurable general purpose inputs and outputs and multiple control options. Combined with Kinesys' Mentor safety controllers, Velocity 2 can form part of a complete SIL3 control solution for single or multiple axes of movement.

In the corners of the stand, Velocity 2 drives were set up with winches to clearly illustrate to visitors how the system works.

Kinesys' new Mentor range of safety controllers provide a safety backbone for the entire range of Kinesys automation products and allow product lines, both old and new to work together seamlessly at an emergency stop and safety level. The Mentor range is divided into three different product lines with distinctive levels of safety management for varying applications.

Also highlighted was Kinesys' EVO variable speed hoist system, its DigiHoist fixed speed digital chain hoist controller and its Libra range of accurate load measurement products.

In addition to all the products, there was a great deal of interest in the company itself and the customized and turnkey solutions that it can offer, says Fowler, adding that they were particularly impressed with the footfall of visitors from Asia and the Pacific Rim, which is very much a developing market for Kinesys.

Business has increased dramatically in this part of the world in recent years and the last 12 months have seen key strategic partnerships being established with major companies in the region.

"Apart from being busy and making contact with some serious entertainment technology players," says Fowler, "We were also extremely pleased with the thoroughness and efficiency of the exhibition organizers."
