UK - A comprehensive Technical Training Workshop covering the Kinesys automation system will be staged on 1 & 2 March 2010 in Blackburn, at the premises of lighting rental company, HSL. The Training is open to all interested parties. It has been designed to work as a one or a two day course to suit all levels of interest.

Day One will be a general technical training day, incorporating an overview of the basic Kinesys system and how it works including the conversion of hoists to vari-speed; the use of the Kinesys Elevation 1+ and Elevation 24 hoist controllers and Kinesys' range of power distribution units; connecting everything together, fault finding and running from Rigger remote control handsets.

Day Two will be dedicated to the philosophies and working of the Kinesys Vector control software, complete with practical sessions allowing attendees to get hands-on with the controllers in HSL's large demo area.

Places will be limited to 12 per day to ensure that everyone receives full attention and can experience plenty of 'live' practical time with the equipment.

HSL has over 50 Kinesys motors plus both Vector and K2 control, and the systems are constantly out working on a variety of shows and events. In the last year, these have included Snow Patrol, Keane, Massive Attack, Pop Factor, the Capital FM Summer Ball, Radio 1Xtra, Sky Sports boxing and many more.

Says HSL's Mike Oates: "Automation is becoming increasingly integrated into visual designs of all types and Kinesys is the most flexible and dynamic system on the market. We decided to run the Workshops as we believe there's a real demand for the knowledge - and to encourage those interested to acquire the skills needed to be good Kinesys operators, which in turn will potentially help generate more work for them! So the exercise should work for everyone."
