Germany - KV2 Audio loudspeakers were used on the prestigious Jazz Stage at the recent Hafenfest music festival in Muenster, Germany. KV2's distributor in Germany, Aaudio of Emsdetten, was commissioned by a local rental company to provide the sound throughout the three-day event. Experienced sound engineer George Tuerk (who also works as sound engineer for H-Blockxs) was brought in to run FOH.

Manfred Thalmann, KV2 Audio product manager, commented: "This event was a great opportunity for us to use the KV2 system under real live conditions, with a wide range of different music styles. It enabled us to present outstanding audio qualities to a specialist public. The very high sound quality was consistent when the system was being used at different volume levels which proved really convincing and reinforced KV2 Audio's claims of extremely low distortion and increased dynamic range."

The festival brought together a wide cross-section of musicians with a wide range of instruments, equipment and music styles. In all cases, the KV2 system was able to demonstrate the clean sound resolution that it has become synonymous with. The directivity of the KV2 ES system worked very well in both horizontal and vertical planes, with excellent reproduction of the voices and the extremely high definition required for the complex instrumentals. The system was played over the full dispersion angle (90°) without any change in sound. Each detail of the music was absolutely clean, even at a distance of 60m to the stage.

Thalmann says: "Our sound engineer was very impressed with the system, commenting that even at high volume levels it worked absolutely distortion-free. The whole event brought nothing but praise from the organizing team and the audience."

For the acoustic sound, four ES1.0 mid/high cabinets (two flown per side horizontally) were used, along with four ES2.5 double 15" subwoofers, powered by a four-way E-PAK 2500 amplifier from KV2. Two EX2.5 active cabinets were also used for additional sub bass-extension up to 90Hz. At stage front, two EX10s served as infills directly under the flown ES1.0 Systems.
