Hnioxos is a 900sq.m venue catering for up to 800 guests on four levels, constructed in the form of a modern day amphitheatre. Situated in Chlorakas, Pafos, the club has been owned and run by leading local music star Adonis Michaelides, drawing devotees from all over the island. The decision to upgrade the sound system in the club came through a perceived need to improve the 'offering' to the club's clients and provide them with absolutely the best sound system solution, enabling the club to remain at the top of an ever increasingly competitive market in what is a geographically small yet very buoyant market area.
The new KV2 sound system installed by Riccos includes a double ES system - four ES 1.0, eight ES 1.8, driven by four EPAK-2500R with two EX12s as a centre cluster. The ES Series is the embodiment of KV2's product philosophy, say the company. It is a compact and flexible speaker system complete with all the electronics and amplification supplied by the EPAK 2500R, which includes four task-specific power amplifiers mounted on a large heatsink. The control system incorporates electronic crossover filters, time correction featuring KV2's unique 6MHz sampling DSD delay line, equalization, system protection and level controls.
Placing the active electronics package outboard results in a lighter, easier to handle system with much more flexibility. The ES 1.0 includes a 1.75" dome compression driver, a 6", horn-loaded mid-range speaker and a 12" horn-loaded mid-bass driver; the ES 1.8 is a horn-loaded single 18" subwoofer module. The result is a system with uncompromising sound quality that is extremely flexible, very easy to use and set up and represents tremendous value.
After the installation Mr. Michaelides commented: "Comparing previous systems, as I've worked with almost all types of systems old and new, I consider myself enlightened as I've experienced new sounds - things I haven't heard before through a sound system. Every single frequency can be heard separately when listening to a KV2 sound system. I didn't believe the power and the clarity of the system."
