Paul Nicholson from L-Acoustics UK takes up the story: "I designed the system well in advance of the show by extrapolating the site plans into a 3D Soundvision model. As usual there were a few minor adjustments to be made on the day regarding stage size and ground contours etc, but the system was flown and trimmed from single fly points within 30 minutes. I used a new factory preset for the event which I received by email the day before, and after walking the arena during listening tests no additional EQ was required. The system was extremely smooth in both the vertical and horizontal planes, and all the guest engineers including Ian Slater [FOH for Keane] who was mixing for Athlete didn't ask for any adjustments to be made. Despite having to minimise audio spill from the site there were no regulatory noise limits in force so the system was pushed very hard but performed impeccably with plenty of available headroom. I think it's fair to say that Kudo was a great success and a big surprise to everyone involved with the production."
Steph Fleming from EFX comments: "As with our other L-Acoustics V-Dosc and dV-Dosc systems we expected Kudo to impress us and reproduce first-class audio - in other words to perform to the very highest standard. We just didn't imagine that it would be quite soooooo good, and in fact surpass our (already tough) expectations. Joe Thomas is a discerning and diligent system technician, with years of V-Dosc & dV-Dosc experience, and has been looking after the system in Glasgow for the last few years, so the fact that the smile on his face was as wide as the Clyde says it all for us!"
