Realising a gap in the market for high-end sound systems, Orange Events, a preferred supplier for sound, lighting and AV systems of the Centre, aimed to enhance the existing sound system by improving overall sound quality, coverage and capacity to handle events in large venues such as the 3,000-seat auditorium, Plenary Hall.
After thorough research and technical consideration regarding the exact requirements of the Centre, Orange has invested in the L-Acoustics Kudo system, said Mr Blurr Wong, managing director, Orange Events. Orange took possession of the L-system following close collaboration on the acquisition and project with Sennheiser Electronics Asia's Mr Yusof Ahmad and Acoustic & Lighting PVT's, Mr Allen Chan and Mr Paul Cheng.
Mr Wong said, "The 'Phase One' system consists of 12 units of the Kudo system and four SB218. All were rigged-tested in the Plenary Hall, with design assistance using Soundvision 3D software."
Adam Mather-Brown, director of operations, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre says, "Our focus has always been on facilitating a 'total event planning' scenario. Orange's efforts in this certainly marks them a vendor with a difference."
The Centre will soon play host venue to a performance by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra that will perform on the Kudo system. This follows the encouraging reception to the debut of the system at an event held at the Centre. Among artistes who have performed on the event were renowned Australian entertainers, Jimmy Barnes, Mondo Rock and Bull Sister.
