The 11-date tour took in four different venues in Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Sao Paolo, Brazil and Mexico City, Mexico. According to Mark Ward, Coldplay's production manager, "The South American tour was a huge success. The new technology Laser was a great solution to the production management's concerns of equipment size, weight, power consumption and venue water limitations. The 5 watt air cooled diode Laser provided spectacular multicolour atmospheric and beam effects."
