Russ Grubiak, lighting programmer for The Jonathan Ross Show was "very excited about the use of a very special product." He and show lighting director Oli Richards considered various ways of using the 6-06 before deciding on their approach: "We figured that a lot of people would use them in straight lines or as a grid. Oli's preference was for a non-uniform, random focus that filled the ceiling space and looked as edgy as possible. We mounted the fixtures in a ball and socket TV grip, which suited our monopole hanging grid at the studio and gave us staggered heights."
Grubiak then ran the fixtures from his Chamsys MQ100 Pro console, taking separate control of each cell in the fixture and "using individual channels with shuffle type grouping to achieve the spitting and random effects that the show seemed to demand."
In live concert touring, Patrick Sollit is using the 6-06 with American punk-rock band Bowling for Soup as they tour the UK."We are using the fixtures as ACL replacements," Sollit explains, "but the effects they are capable of are so much more than ACL bars, putting many dynamic and effects at my finger tips." The fixtures were supplied to the tour by Zigzag Lighting, one of a number of companies that have already invested in Leader Light products.
