UK - Leisuretec Distribution exhibited at the ABTT Theatre Show this week, showing the new BlueBeam and BlueDome Systems from GDS (Global Design Solutions) - for which Leisuretec has been appointed the exclusive UK distributor. Blues Systems are designed for use in all front- and back-of-house technical areas, and are ideal for theatres and performance spaces of all types.

The products (both interior and exterior) are designed to replace many existing architectural light sources such as fluorescents or low-level halogen fittings. They are also suitable for inaccessible corners, nooks and crannies, providing an alternative LED working light that is very reliable and needs zero maintenance - not ever needing the lamp or gel changed.

The BlueBeam (spot) and BlueDome (flood) produce little heat and use an integral 0-10v onboard dimmer allowing each fitting to be dimmed to suit the environment. Both products fit onto a standard electrical conduit box, or can be mounted directly onto a conduit back-box for easy integration with existing building infrastructures.

The BlueDome provides an omni-directional lightsource for anywhere requiring low-level distribution. The BlueBeam is a directional fitting and is more suited to high-level installations. The BlueBeam is available in 5, 10 or 20 degree beam angles, each producing a solid block of light that make illumination from 3 to 15 metres and more possible. The products are manufactured from UV stable polycarbonate, and are compact, elegant, extremely robust and IP67-rated.

Using only 250 milliamps of power per unit, large numbers can be daisy-chained together making cabling and installation very straightforward and non-complicated. Andy Duffield, sales development manager for Leisuretec commented: "The Blues System from Global Design Solutions represents an affordable and modern solution to performance blues, cue-lighting and emergency lighting installations."

The high-power LED fittings are extremely bright but with on board dimming (BlueBeam & Blue Dome) they can be controlled very cost effectively for most lighting applications where a controlled light-spill is required. Duffield continues: "Working with Global Design Solutions for the distribution of the Blues System will be very exciting as it compliments the range of products Leisuretec already offers it's customers. With Strand Lighting, Pulsar, Zero 88 and Martin Professional products already available, and now the Blues System, I really believe that Leisuretec are able to offer a credible one-stop solution to customers working in the performance market."
