The LED wall needed to be suitable for presentations during large events as well as for videos

Belgium - For more than half a century global family business, Beaulieu International Group (BIG), has produced flooring material solutions. With a strong focus on providing sustainable choices, its aim is to ‘enhance the quality of living and working for every generation’.

Last year, the company decided to create an interactive experience centre at its Belgium headquarters. To achieve its aim, it called on the expertise of Ocular, a technology company specialising in immersive and interactive installations, to create a space that incorporates its diverse brands and brings them together as a cohesive whole. The centrepiece is a Leyard MGP Complete LED screen, used to introduce its solutions to visitors, and used as a presentation screen, or for events.

The team at BIG chose to build an interactive showroom because they wanted the people they interact with to be able to experience their broad set of solutions in an interactive way that made it worth the visit. The experience centre is divided into areas, so each BIG brand has its own space and can tell its own story.

Ocular organised a series of workshops to gather information from each department about its specific needs and USPs, so it could provide the right hardware for the individual spaces, moving away from its traditional showroom environment with samples, to an immersive, interactive experience, allowing customers to experience the story of BIG and visualise how a particular product looks in certain conditions.

For many of the internal spaces, projection screens were chosen as the appropriate solution, but the central area has large windows. Here Ocular specified LED to cope with the high ambient light levels, choosing Leyard’s Made in Europe MGP Complete.

“As Ocular, we’ve worked together with Leyard because we needed high-quality visualization technology in a bright environment. That’s why LED was the perfect solution,” says the company’s CEO, Nicolas Vanden Avenne. “The LED wall needed to be suitable for presentations during large events as well as for videos, and Leyard’s solution meets those requirements. Additionally, everything is produced in Europe and the company has a short lead time. The quality of the LED panels is also great.”

The team at Ocular also appreciates the technical support Leyard provides before, during and after installation. “There are always enough spare LED panels supplied, so that we can immediately replace defective panels during the installation,” Nicolas Vanden Avenne adds.

“People who have already visited our showroom are impressed by the level in the experience centre,” concludes Karel De Meester, content strategist at Beaulieu International Group. “Customers are intrigued to look around and discover more about Beaulieu. External parties also contact us to visit and get inspiration for their own future experience centres.”
