The Main Stage at Unbound
UK - Event production and equipment specialists Light Fantastic Production Services partnered with award-winning international innovation festival Unbound to deliver an immersive two-day experience at The Old Truman Brewery, London.
Supplying a complete production package covering every aspect of the event, LFPS provided full installation, technical infrastructure and management of the busy two-day programme attended by over 5000 visitors and featuring presentations from a host of world leading brands.
Working within the ‘blank canvas’ interior space of the Truman Brewery, the LFPS team transformed the entire first floor into a series of high-tech zones, including the Main Stage, Future Stage, Networking Zone, Partners Lounge, Exhibition and VR/Interactive area. Handling every detail, LFPS provided lighting, audio, video, rigging, draping, set design and construction, digital branding and signage throughout the venue.
For the presentation theatres, LFPS handled the complete design, fabrication and installation of the entire set, along with full production management of the event’s all important keynote presentations, interviews, workshops and panel discussions.
Central to the event, the Main Stage area was created as a self-contained 500-seat, multi-media theatre featuring a 17m wide, curved video wall constructed from Unilumen 2.6mm LED panels. Content was managed via an Analog Way Ascender 4K to deliver on-screen visuals, with live streaming of all presentations being fed to the clients Youtube and social media channels.
A distributed d&b audiotechnik system was installed to provide crisp audio throughout the theatre fed by 24 channels of Sennheiser wireless microphones.
To complement the Unbound branding, the LFPS design team created an array of internally lit translucent cubes, which were cleverly rigged to ‘tumble’ effortlessly across the full width of main stage auditorium. The set design was augmented with a range of lighting equipment, including Robe Mega Pointes, Robe 600 LED Washes and Pulsar Chroma Floods, controlled via a grandMA2 console.
With limited on-site build time available, the company handled construction of the scenic elements, including over 140 individually branded exhibition stands. Fielding a team of over 50 staff, LFPS were able to provide the organisers with a convenient single source solution for both equipment and technical support throughout the entire event.
Commenting on the project, managing director Rob Myer says: “It has been a pleasure to once again work with the Unbound team to design and deliver a world class event. Our crew have done a spectacular job in transforming the Truman Brewery and managing every technical aspect of the production.”
