One of the highlights from SGM is the new Giotto Digital 1500 fixture. Using a special patented application of DLP technology, the Giotto Digital 1500 combines digital effects generation with a fully-featured moving head fixture. It offers the features of a moving light with an innovative all-digital system for generating graphic effects, whilst maintaining fundamental features like fast movement, brightness, control standards and compact dimensions.
Giotto Digital 1500 can be used to create completely customisable all-digital graphic effects. It transcends the restrictions of standard gobos and offers an almost endless library of images and clips extremely quickly using BMP, JPG and AVI-MPEG4 files.
Other SGM products will include their Palco 3 and 5 and Palco 3 Mobile LED wash units, the IP65 Genio Fixed and Genio Mobile LED 'bricks'. A separate area from the Giotto Digital will feature the full complement of SGM's Idea range of moving lights, consisting of the Idea Spot 150 and Idea Spot and Wash 250 - compact mono-armed moving head fixtures designed for high performance at a great quality/price ratio.
Joining them are the new 575 Spot and Wash units, plus the high specification Scan 250 and the new and very affordable Idea strobe 1500 DMX.
On the LDR area of the stand there will be a selection of new products, including a complete range of pole operated fresnels, built around the LDR's well known Nota/Tono and Soffio/Suono D fresnels, and the new pole operated Inno 1K flood. These are offered with four different lamp wattages - 1/1.2 and 2/2.5 kW halogen - 150W and 250W discharge.
There will be the first showing of the new LDR Xpress 13, 19, 25 colour scrollers which are now ready to ship. Lightfactor will also focus on LDR's Canto range of follow spots and their various architectural luminaires.
Launched at the show is the new LP RCBO Paradim dimmer, offering all the features and values of the standard Paradims, with an RCBO on each channel for compliance with the new 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671). There is now also a wall mounted socketed Cee 17 Paradim which can be supplied with MCB, RCBO or Double Pole breakers.
Also highlighted is the full range of LightProcessor Location dimmers - a portable dimming solution for the film, TV and events industries including 6 x 10 and 6 x 16 Amp versions, complete with Cee 17's fitted on the rear, plus a 3 x 25A and a 1 x 63A module.
The DMX-controlled Novalight High-Ground uses a 2,000W MSR light source and outputs 174,000 lumens. The moving yoke version pans 540° in 3.2 seconds and tilts 262° in 2.9 seconds, making it a very agile fixture. The unit offers five dichroic colours and white, plus shutter and strobe effects; another advantage is that there's no central black hole when the beam is opened to maximum.
The new Nova-Flower is the first full programmable 'flower effect' with full DMX controllable pan, tilt, colour shutter plus other standard features. Nova-Flower is trolley mounted for rapid rigging onto a truss, and can also be used in stand-alone mode programmed via the display buttons on its base. It has a weather-resistant IP 43 rating. Four Nova-Flowers are featured on the current Coldplay world tour (LD Paul Normandale).
Lightfactor is now distributing French manufacturer SFAT's range of modular effects generators - all of which fit on to the same power bases. Available heads include Wind, Snow, Foam, Jet Foam, Confetti, Flame, Airtube (inflatable) and Mist. Lightfactor can supply all the relevant fluids needed to go into these machines plus a full range of fog fluids.
