Having achieved Lighthouse's Sales Person of the Year award for 2004, Taylor's position is set to further strengthen Lighthouse's market position in Northern Europe and is the next step in the company's regional focus, which follows on from the inception of the Western and Central Europe and Southern Europe offices at the end of 2004.
"There's a great opportunity to build on our current business in Northern Europe," comments Taylor. "With installations such as the new Samsung sign next to Coca Cola in Piccadilly Circus and the huge amount of rental business that Lighthouse screens are being used on through Blitz Vision, Massteknik, The Picture Works, Creative Technology, XL Video and PSL, we are reinforcing our reputation as a leading supplier."
Director - Business Development Europe, Theo van Beek joins Lighthouse from the management team at Barco, Belgium where his focus was on the integration of Folsom products into the rental market.
His new role at Lighthouse involves identifying new business opportunities through ongoing research, as well as initiating and maintaining Lighthouse's rental partner and system integrator contacts. "I'm looking forward to the challenges that Lighthouse will undoubtedly present me with," comments van Beek. "I'll be analyzing market trends, our competitors and driving future opportunities for business growth of Lighthouse LED video screens. I will also be responsible for managing new business projects in key markets, negotiating deal structures and contracts.
"The recent launch of micro offices in Europe - with Roberto Segato in charge of Southern Europe, Michiel Hettinga in Western and Central Europe, and Simon Taylor's new appointment for Northern Europe - has already made a big difference to Lighthouse's European business and I'll be helping the sales team to maximize both existing and potential opportunities."
