Hong Kong - Lighthouse LED screens are set to play a key part in the broadcasting of the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany. Renchen-based audio/visual provider Cassiopeia Veranstaltungstechnik is taking delivery of 16 panels of Lighthouse R19 LED screen this month.

"There is a large area of southern Germany where mobile LED screens are not currently available. We wanted the best product to serve that market and fit with our high quality lighting and sound portfolio," says Cassiopeia's Martin Heuberger. "You only get one chance to impress a customer, so it's vital that you get the best.

"Lighthouse is a global player," continues Heuberger. "We are the first to stock their products in this part of Germany and therefore fast technical support was very important. We asked other companies who own Lighthouse screens and they all said that the technical backup was excellent."

The first event that the panels will be used at is the television show Wetten, dass. The celebrity-based game show takes place in different cities and the Lighthouse R19 will be on location with the show in Mannheim.

"The R19 screen has proved to be a very popular solution for rental applications in the European market," says Lighthouse's director of sales for Western and Central Europe, Michiel Hettinga. "We're seeing a steady increase in sales. Return on investment is a key factor in any rental company's purchase decision. The knowledge that they will be using a superior product means they are getting forward bookings, such as this one for Cassiopeia, and their screens can start working for them immediately they take delivery."
