USA - Lighthouse Technologies reported record sales during the InfoComm International Exposition 2005 (8-10 June, Las Vegas). The company attributes the success to its debut of LED video screens, which it says break new ground in digital signage, entertainment and special events. This includes PopVision, the industry's first portable and self-sustaining LED screen, and two new fanless 10 mm pixel pitch indoor LED screens.

"The unveiling of these advanced products coincides with an upswing in the LED video technology industry, providing us with tremendous market momentum," said Tony Turiello, vice-president sales, marketing and operations in the Americas for Lighthouse. "InfoComm has always been a profitable event, even so, this year we registered more sales in the opening hours than the overall total of any past show."

Taking centre stage at the InfoComm was Lighthouse's new 6mm 'PopVision' screen, the industry's first portable and self-sustaining LED screen that by rising up and down in the case, gives users a piece of "Times Square in a box." Ideal for entertainment, event, and marketing venues where mobility is a priority, the PopVision features Lighthouse's proprietary technology, enabling a high-resolution screen with better quality images at an affordable price. Designed for aesthetic integration, PopVision offers brightness level up to 3000 nits - unmatched by LCD, plasma and projection systems - making it an ideal choice for any new or existing digital signage network. PopVision can also be used in outdoor applications and seen in direct sunlight as long as weatherproof housing considerations are met.

InfoComm also saw Lighthouse debut two new fanless 10mm pixel pitch indoor LED video screens, the P10 and R10, the lightest fully integrated LED with a built in power supply. Almost noise-less and featuring Lighthouse's M-4 proven pixel uniformity technology, the P10 and R10 are created for environments where noise levels need to be kept to an absolute minimum. The fanless design of both models provides an extremely quiet screen suitable for a variety of applications, from the lobby of a corporate business, religious gatherings, to acoustic concerts and conferences, to studios and broadcast events - anywhere that low background noise is essential.

Designed for permanent installations, the P10 is lightweight for ease of installation. Each panel weighs only 9.6kg, making it possible for a technician to install the screen single-handedly. The R10 rental product is also lightweight and features a fast rig single kingpin design for quick set-up and strip down of the screen. With cost effectiveness always in mind, the R10 is compatible with all existing LVP1010D accessories.
