USA - Lighting/projection programmer Rodd McLaughlin, Emmy-nominated lighting/projection designer Patrick Dierson, and programmer Kim Grethen have launched Idyll Hands Imagery, which will offer digital content design and creation, media server programming, and pre-visualization services to the concert, corporate, theatre, film, and television industries. Among the services offered by the company is the optimization of digital content for media server playback.

"Our combined understanding of lighting and control, projection and media products, and the needs of designers makes this a unique partnership," says McLaughlin. "Patrick, Kim, and I have worked on projects together for many years, and given our combined technical knowledge and involvement in the industry, it was a natural evolution to come together in this effort. We offer a host of experience, not only in digital content design, programming, and pre-visualization, but also in the creation of 3D objects for use in media servers."

McLaughlin has been programming lighting for 15 years and has been involved in 3D visualization and creation since the mid 90s, including being a partner in pre-visualization studio Prelite NY, LLC. Recent noteworthy projects include creating and programming media content for Disney Live's Winnie-the-Pooh and the Perfect Day, Disney on Ice Finding Nemo, and projects for Henri Bendel's. In addition to his lighting and media content experience, McLaughlin has extensive knowledge of CAD software, networking, and networked systems.

A programmer and lighting designer for over a decade, Dierson has also been involved in projection design for the past five years, creating digital media content for his own projects, as well as for other designers. He recently provided projection and lighting design for Disney Live's Winnie-the-Pooh and the Perfect Day. He was nominated for an Emmy Award for his lighting direction of America: A Tribute to Heroes.

Grethen, partner and office manager for Idyll Hands Imagery, is also a partner in Prelite NY, LLC. She has more than a decade of experience in 3D pre-visualization and over 15 years' experience as a lighting programmer in a variety of applications.
