With such a building, the associated opening ceremony had to be as impressive as the tower itself. Dubai based Prisme International was selected to organise the complete event. Prisme designed a lighting set based on more than 300 Space Cannon, spread all around the building, and also installed on 17 terraces.
Prisme International has worked for several years with France-based Sonoss, French dealer of Luminex equipment. Following a request from Prisme, Sonoss and Luminex supplied a complete network solution to transport all lighting datas, all over the ground level, and inside the building.
Four Safety Ring Switches were used to transport data from the control room to the tower, and to a big cluster of Space Cannon. This fibre link was then connected to the IT network of the building, where the tower IT manager supplied a network port to each terrace where DMX was rrequired.
A Luminex converter was installed on each terrace to supply DMX to all the installed moving heads. A large array of 110 Space cannon was then installed at the rear of the tower to create a backlight effect. Three Luminex outdoor access points were used to feed the array with DMX. A total of 12 universes were used to control the complete lighting set.
In order to secure the control system, Prisme International requested a backup solution - 24 Luminex outdoor access point were thus installed at each location, to offer a backup link in case of link failure.
