The Lycian 1274 Superstar 1.2 Short
USA - Lycian Stage Lighting will introduce its two newest followspots, the model 1274 Superstar 1.2 Short and Superstar 2K, 2000W MSR at LDI.

The Lycian 1274 was unveiled at PLASA London 2014 and is now available for sale. The Superstar 1.2 Short brings all the controls favoured for years on its sibling, the 1275 Superstar, one of Lycian's best-selling followspots, but in a more compact form factor and with a smaller diameter front lens.

With its short overall length the 1274 offers a remarkable size to output ratio.

As a short throw, optically the 1274 is designed for throws to beyond 100 feet/ 35 meters. It utilizes the OSRAM Sharx series 1200W double-ended lamp positioned in a dichroic glass reflector.

The Superstar Short is capable of beam widths from head shots to two person circles or greater in much of its optimum operating range. The 1274 top mounted control cluster includes levers for a fader, nichrome iris, and horizontal chopping shutters. A single lever trombone intensifies the beam as the diameter is reduced. An internal self-cancelling 6- colour boomerang is included as is a magnetic ballast and folding 3 legged stand.

"The 1274 should excel in those applications where space is tight but a versatile, clean, bright beam is required. The Superstar Short offers the ability to iris down to a head shot but is fully capable of generating a brilliant wide beam," said Steve Lerman, director of sales. "We expect the Superstar Short to gain rapid recognition worldwide, as it is available in all international electrical requirements."

The model 1276 Superstar 2K is a 2000W version of the Superstar. The 1276 is recommended as a bright non-xenon followspot where medium to long applications are present. The 1276 Superstar 2K utilizes an MSR 2000 single-ended lamp. "The Superstar 2K takes its rightful place as a major step up from 1200 and 1800W followspots from both Lycian and others", said Steve Lerman, director of sales at Lycian Stage Lighting. "We are pleased to now offer a family of Superstars with an identical feature set."
