The TW1 fixture won the award "due to its surprising combination of classic Tungsten source with advanced moving head technology". Nearly five hundred professionals from the entertainment technology sector attended the fourth annual awards ceremony held at the Juan Carlos I Trade Fairground (Madrid Trade Fairs Institute - IFEMA) on 7 November. On hand in Madrid to accept the award on behalf of Martin Professional's Spanish representative, Ecler, was Luis Barrado.
The MAC TW1 is a powerful 1200W Tungsten wash fixture with features such as a twin lens zoom system, full CMY colour mixing, motorised zoom and choice of internal or external electronic dimming.
The Awards jury was made up of a host of prestigious lighting and audio professionals and included José Luis Canales, head of lighting technology at Spain's Royal Theatre; Mariano García, engineer and designer whose work includes renowned works for the National Drama Centre; Nick Litwin, master engineer; César Linares, freelance lighting technician; Javier Moreno, engineer and commercial director of AEQ; Ángel Quintanilla, currently in charge of technical management at SGAE (General Society of Authors and Editors); Miguel Ángel Muñoz, director of the prestigious CES school; José María Rosillo, sound engineer and producer; Juan Vinader, considered the experts' expert and currently head of sound at Kulteperalia and Miramón Mendi; and Gabriel Albornoz and Joao Martins, director and international editor, respectively, of Producción Audio.
