Mackie announces a new edition to its HD Series - HDA High-Definition Arrayable Powered Loudspeaker
USA - Mackie has announced a new edition to its HD Series - the Mackie HDA High-Definition Arrayable Powered Loudspeaker. Developed with EAW, each HDA module delivers 1200W of power and up to four HDAs can be used per side, creating a line array that can handle anything from mid-size houses of worship to large clubs, says the company.

"Mackie is well known for bringing high end pro audio technology into the hands, and budgets, of customers who would otherwise not be able to bridge the monetary gap," said Ben Olswang, Mackie brand product manager. "Our partnerships allow us to integrate technology that is simply not possible for other companies."

Each HDA module delivers 1200W of peak system power and houses an EAW designed 12" LF driver and dual Beyma 1.7" HF compression drivers, mounted into a multi-cell horn. HDA incorporates Mackie's high-definition digital processing.

Featuring a 100x20 coverage pattern and integrated rigging hardware that allows for up to four HDAs and two Mackie HD1801 powered subwoofers per side, a fully-realised HDA rig can easily handle large audiences with the consistent, predictable coverage. A three-position voicing switch provides easy set up of larger rigs and up to two modules can be pole-mounted directly above a subwoofer, for a high-output portable PA system.

"The scalability of the system makes it the perfect choice for a very wide range of customers, including contractors and rental houses," added Olswang. "HDA delivers proven technology and performance in a more compact system that's perfect for smaller applications or budget conscious installs."
