The maintenance service is available on annual contract basis and includes quarterly visits to site by a qualified Baldwin Boxall engineer. The first three visits in the year include a thorough inspection of the system, including batteries, microphones, message intelligibility, fire panel interface connections and a check on the general condition of the system. The fourth (annual) visit includes the above with an additional visual check of the systems and infrastructure wiring, an SPL check at each loudspeaker zone, confirmation that the level of the emergency broadcast is at a practical level above ambient noise. A certificate of compliance to BS5839 will be issued.During the engineer's initial visit, a competent member of staff will be shown how to monitor the equipment on a daily and weekly basis and to complete a daily log. The training will take one hour of the first visit, and will then be carried out at each annual visit.
Commenting on the introduction of the new service, Terry Baldwin, sales director said: "Introducing a contract maintenance service was the next natural step for Baldwin Boxall to take. Customers have requested this in the past but we did not want to offer the service until we were certain that we had the facilities and staff to do so. We will only offer Maintenance Contracts to our account customers because it has always been Baldwin Boxall's policy to only supply distributors and installers on our established customer base and never to supply end users direct. This policy ensures Baldwin Boxall systems are supplied to properly qualified and trained engineers."
