Marquee Audio will be focussing mostly on the AuviTran products that provide audio distribution and networking using the EtherSound protocol. In particular, Marquee's Andy Huffer expects success with Auvitran's AVY16-ES cards, which bring EtherSound compatibility to Yamaha digital mixers and other professional audio products featuring the 'mini-YGDAI' interface.
"The Auvitran card effectively brings Yamaha to the EtherSound party," says Huffer. "All the Yamaha products can now hop onto the EtherSound bandwagon including the new PM5D and DME64. As we are probably Yamaha's foremost dealer in the UK, this is going to be very significant for Marquee Audio."
Providing two EtherSound connectors and an RS232 port for both very-low latency audio and data transmission, up to 16 audio input and 16 audio output channels can be transmitted to or sent from a Yamaha mixer to any other EtherSound compatible device, over regular Cat 5 cables.
EtherSound offers up to 64 channels of audio along a single Cat 5 cable. The AVY-ES cards offer full network and/or local control of all channel assignments as well as constant network status monitoring making it ideal for live professional audio applications. They are suitable for use in fixed installations that require high quality audio mixing, distribution, paging and zone management, as well as being ideal for distribution, routing and control of audio in touring situations.
