Both Frederikshavn mayor Erik Sørensen and Martin President and CEO Kristian Kolding addressed the large crowd, which numbered nearly 300. Kolding told us: "This ceremony marks an important milestone in our expansion programme and confirms that our new facility will be up and running on schedule later this summer." Geared towards the production of Martin’s most advanced lighting products, the $20 million 12,500sq.m factory is slated for completion in August. Upon completion, Martin will effectively double its production capacity for the manufacture of automated lighting; its current production facility, also located in Frederikshavn, will continue operation.
The person responsible for overseeing and managing the new facility is factory manager Thomas Raunsbaek. "In addition to adding to our manufacturing capacity, the factory will incorporate a wide range of new capabilities, such as a new manufacturing and logistics set-up that will ensure a high level of performance." Those attending the ceremony included over 250 of Martin’s own employees, as well as project contractors KPC Byg Vest A/S, architectural firm Aarhus Arkitekterne, engineering company Carl Bro A/S, advisers Bascon A/S (building) and T.U. Langebæk (production equipment) and representatives from the municipal government.
