With a pair of RX218 subs built in under the stage, there are two RX112s for the stalls, two for the circle and two for the upper circle. "It's a reasonably compact enclosure, which turned in the best sound quality performance in A/B testing, and also happens to be very good value for money," says Dave Rudge of MBI.
The Palace has bought Electro-Voice's new Precision Series amplifiers, P1200RL and P3000RL, which have brought several advantages over conventional amplifiers. "For the amount of DSP the system was using, with separate EQ and delay for each speaker, this is the most cost-effective amplification solution," explains Howe. "Additionally, the remote monitoring and system supervision facilities provided by these amps give the engineers more flexibility and control over their system."
