The Karma amp rack.
USA - In the past several months, Minneapolis has added two state-of-the-art dance clubs with incredible sound systems powered by amplifiers: the MC2 Audio E25 and E45 power amps. The sound systems for both the new Karma and Visage clubs were designed and installed by Minneapolis-based Light N Trax, and the MC2 amplifier sale was made by John Bormann of Bormann Marketing.

Karma enjoyed a warm reception to its opening in the heart of Minneapolis's club district. There, a sound system based on the EAW Avalon speaker system is propelled by 55,000 Watts from a combination of MC2 E25 and E45 amplifiers powering the mains, subs and fills. The two-story club features a separate VIP suite and several private cabana areas.

Visage, which opened in April, has a fashion theme - a video display behind the bar presents the French fashion channel FTV and non-stop runway action, while every Friday a live fashion show spotlights a local designer. Visage truly represents the new age for Minneapolis clubs: it's built on the site of the former Tropix, a 1980s venue. Like Karma, it also has an Avalon sound system driven by MC2 E25 and E45 amplifiers.

"Minneapolis is experiencing a renaissance in terms of club venues," says Eddy Hoyer, president of Light N Trax. "These two new clubs put the city on the map in terms of quality sound systems. The MC2 E25 and E45 amplifiers are perfectly matched for the Avalon speaker systems. As a result, we get great sound at any volume." This was Light N Trax's first installation featuring MC2 amplifiers. Hoyer chose them based on the recommendation of Bormann Marketing. "And based on their performance at both clubs, I'll use them again," says Hoyer, citing the E25's and E45's ability to pack enormous amounts of power in just two rackspaces. "They're also very light for the amount of power they offer, too," he adds. "And at Karma, the equipment closet is in the manager's office. We could do that because of the fact that the MC2 amps throw off very little heat. They perform and sound better than any amps I've ever heard."
