The VDT lectures will be held in Room 'Esprit', Hall 9.1, from 10.00 to 18.00 hrs on Friday, 8 April 2011, and are open to all Prolight + Sound visitors free of charge. The Association of German Sound Engineers is a professional association for professionals from all parts of the audio sector. Its members work in film, radio, television, sound studios, record production, theatres, event halls, the equip¬ment manufacturing industry, research and development, and in professions relating to sound-engineering activities.
At its congress, ALMA - The International Loudspeaker Association - will present its activities in the fields of loudspeaker research, technical standards and performance regulations under the banner, PA loudspeakers - yesterday, today and tomorrow. ALMA is the international association for loudspeaker manufacturers, acousticians and scientists active in research and development of loudspeaker technology. The ALMA lectures will be held in Rooms 'Symmeterie' 2/3, Hall 8.1, on 9 April 2011.
The VDT lecture programme will include: Sascha Paeth, Association of German Sound Engineers (VDT) - Production processes in rock / pop music; Peter Fuchs (VDT) - Film mixing - orchestra and more; Christoph Stickel (VDT) - Mastering dynamic, natural recordings vs. compressed, functionalised sound productions ; Johannes Wohlleben (VDT) - Surround in pop music.
The ALMA Symposium will feature: Barry D. Moskowitz, Global GM Fluids Business Unit - Ferro fluid for PA loudspeakers: today and in the future; Peter Andrews, Brush Wellman Electrofusion Products - High-performance diaphragm unit with beryllium dome for large-format pressure-chamber loudspeakers; Kristian Ougaard, CTO Bang & Olufsen ICEpower - Class D amplifiers in the future; Matthias Ringpfeil - Spider materials and their influence on loudspeaker behaviour. All ALMA lectures will be given in English.
