China - From 20-22 September 2003, Architectural Audio PTE Ltd (AAPL), the exclusive distributor of MediaMatrix in China and South East Asia, sponsored their 20th, and largest ever, MediaMatrix educational seminar, at the Sun Moon Resort Villa near Shanghai, China.

According to Dr David Law, Director of AAPL: "Over 350 audio professionals from all over China attended the seminar, including Chinese MediaMatrix and Peavey dealers, system integrators, engineers, past and potential customers, as well as professional and academic acoustics and networking experts. Additionally, several professors who are in charge of writing government building acoustical specifications also attended."

Education has been the foundation of MediaMatrix's ongoing success. Since its inaugural session in 1994, the popular MediaMatrix Seminar Series has become an industry event, providing instruction to system integrators, designers, consultants, engineers and end-users on MediaMatrix products, technology, applications and design. Since 1997, AAPL-sponsored MediaMatrix seminars have been held throughout China at dealer locations, coinciding with major industry trade shows such as PALA (Pro Audio Light Asia), or at Peavey's Mainland China headquarters, located in Shanghai. Similar to the MediaMatrix seminars held at Peavey's corporate headquarters in Meridian, Mississippi, the Chinese MediaMatrix seminars are also customized for audio professionals of all levels of experience.

Dr. Law states, "Chinese audio professionals are well aware that MediaMatrix systems have been used in the most prominent venues in the world, including the Sydney Opera House, the US State Senate, the Petronis Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, and convention and exhibition centers, as well as stadiums and airports, all over the world. MediaMatrix is considered the industrial standard for networked audio in China and it is continually installed in the most important government venues in Beijing, such as the Forbidden City and Summer Palace, as well as in many other provincial government buildings."

"Education is the key to fully master the capabilities of a MediaMatrix system," adds Dr. Law. "Seminar students are constantly reminded, 'you are what you know'. In order to win tenders and contracts, it all boils down to technical expertise, without which your competitors will take over your role before you can even figure out how they did it. I am happy to say that from the enthusiasm that I see in every MediaMatrix seminar attendee, there is a drive for knowledge that will continually elevate MediaMatrix to new successes in the future."
