Mexico - Mexican rock band ManĂ¡ has earned four Grammy Awards, seven Latin Grammy Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards Latin America, six Premios Juventud awards, fourteen Billboard Latin Music Awards and fifteen Premios Lo Nuestro awards. The band's sound is inspired by Pop Rock, Latin Pop, Calypso, Reggae and Ska music genres. Recently the band started its new world tour 'Cama Incendiada' with a lighting design by Alain Corthout.

The tour used a grandMA2 full-size and a grandMA2 light consoles, two MA NPU (Network Processing Units) and eight MA 8Port Nodes for lighting control of over 200 Clay Paky moving lights.

"Versatility, robustness and reliability are the main reasons I'm using a grandMA2", explained lighting programmer and operator Menga Cruz. "Versatility is needed because of the various ways in which we work with the system on shows. We have two users that are working on two consoles. The light and the preset adjustments are programmed with the grandMA2 full-size while the grandMA2 light is operated by Tacho Gonzalez and used for the system setup. During the show, the grandMA2 light is used for Full-Tracking-Backup."

Cruz continued: "Robustness is key for this system which uses 35 universes. Besides being a very reliable system, you know that with grandMA2 you will get the results you expect. It is a console that easily adapts to the user. You are able to program your show with endless possibilities always reaching the same result. A tour like this could, in my opinion, never be achieved using another console. We need to manage nearly 10,000 parameters; one showfile with over 1,600 cues for moving lights, follow spots, video servers, engines, projections and backdrops. And even if you have an emergency during the show, you can solve the problem without affecting anything. I believe that no other console can do that."

The lighting equipment was provided by Procolor from Guadalajara, Mexico. Showco S.A. de C.V. is the MA distributor in Mexico.
