Seminar logistics were coordinated by Meyer Sound's German office and the event's co-host, Klaus Rahe of Procon Event Engineering, a leading sound rental firm based in Hamburg. The actual site for the sessions was a studio at CINETEC, a local television production facility.
The SIM 3 Training and System Design seminar is an in-depth, intensive program that is the successor to Meyer Sound's SIM School, the origins of which date back to 1984. It provides participants with both a thorough theoretical and operational understanding of SIM measurement, along with a solid grounding in how SIM analysis applies to the design of complex audio systems.
The attendees were appreciative of the opportunity to get science-based education they could apply every day and eagerly absorbed the information. "I learned a lot and really took advantage of Mauricio's deep knowledge as he trained us for four days in acoustic fundamentals, system design, and how to correctly make measurements using the SIM 3 analyzer," says RĂ¼diger Hayk of Soundworks Elektroakustik. "Now I'm keen to put my new knowledge to practical use in the field. Thank you very, very much for making this happen."
Built on almost 20 years of research and development, the SIM 3 audio analyzer incorporates a new generation of Meyer Sound's award-winning audio measurement technique in an integrated hardware and software package. The SIM 3 system analyzes entire sound systems in the field as easily as it verifies the performance of individual electronic components on the test bench.
The SIM 3 seminar is one of eight high-level professional training classes staged by Meyer Sound on an ongoing basis at locations all around the globe. The seminars cover a broad range of topics of interest to sound reinforcement practitioners, including system design, line array principles, and, most recently, mixing techniques.
