ST Sound is well known in the Dutch market for supplying festival equipment, and Rijnweek represents one of the larger festivals on their summer schedule. "I like this festival for a number of reasons," says ST's proprietor, Sander de Kruyff. "For a start, it's one of the few big, week-long festivals left in Holland, and one of the few that doesn't charge an entrance fee, yet it still manages to attract a top-class line-up. From an audio contractor's point of view, this means a huge variety of artists, all with different requirements, so it's imperative to provide a FOH console that is both flexible and easy to use. The Heritage 1000 is a great choice from that point of view, and even offers automation for those who require it. Plus, of course, there is always the 'Midas recognition' factor which goes a long way with most engineers, the majority of whom breathe a sigh of relief when they see the distinctive purple chassis on the mixing tower!"
De Kruyff confirmed that the system performed to expectations. "The combination of Midas, Klark Teknik and EV is a strong one and popular with most engineers. Rijnweek 2004 was no exception."
