Tour Tech's Dave Rudderham explained: "The theatre was fed-up with their seats getting damaged by people hauling their heavy flightcases to the temporary FOH position. Eventually they decided to reduce the physical impact on the theatre by investing in a high quality console of their own that was capable of supporting some of the smaller touring shows in their area. We invited the techs from the Capitol to our annual trade show and benefit concert and took them through our Midas inventory. They fell in love with the Legend straight away and opted for the 40 mono input touring package. For a start it would fit in their existing sound booth without having to resort to a sledgehammer definitely a plus! And secondly, it had more features in less space than the board they were originally considering, in particular 10 VCAs as opposed to 8, plus the unique 'dual fader' design, which allows separate control over both the monitor and FOH mixes from the one board. They also liked the layout and operation of the aux busses which is very well suited to a theatre application where you are likely to find yourself running monitors from FOH as often as not. In short, the Legend 3000 met all of their criteria in terms of features and fitted neatly into the space available. Now you can't get the board out of the theatre the sound guys won't let you!"
