Entirely developed and produced by Midiator, the Vision Pro's main functionality is to control all the visual aspects of a show in a 'live' environment. It acts as a central command station for various industry standard devices like media-servers, video-scalers, light-desks and other equipment. The list of supported devices consists of well-known brands like Green Hippo, Barco, Grass Valley, TV-One, Kiss-Box, Flying Pig and MA-Lighting. Other big brands will be added soon, says the company.
On the back of the console are 8 midi and 3 high-speed Gbit network ports available through which the various devices can be controlled with their own proprietary protocol. The front of the console consists of a grid of buttons and 8 motorized faders, combined with a 15" touchscreen displaying the intuitive user interface, all set in a rugged casing engineered to be durable and up to industry standards.
The Vision Pro can be used in various (semi-) live situations where the visual show consists of a mix of video and light equipment. Typical examples are corporate events, festivals, church productions, TV productions and other live-events.
During the PLASA Show the Vision Pro will be showcased in various set-ups to show the different features included in the software. PLASA visitors will have the opportunity to get a hands-on experience of the console and talk to the Midiator staff at their stand (1-H41). At PLASA09 the predecessor of the Vision Pro, 'Vision' won a PLASA Award for Innovation.
"We think that the release of the Vision Pro will mark the start of a new era of live control philosophy", Menno Pleij said. "It has many groundbreaking features that show operators and designers are eager to get their hands on. We believe that the definition of the 'convergence of light and video' will been redefined with the release of the Vision Pro..."
