Steve Hubbard, Push Hire's production manager had seen the Batten2 being used on a variety of shows and was impressed with what he saw so he visited MilTec's stand at PLASA for a closer look. A full demo was then organised at the Push premises in Eastbourne, resulting in an order for 68 units.
Steve commented: "The Batten2 was chosen over rival products because it is bright, compact, robust and because the layout of the connectors makes it easy to set up for shows. It is obviously a well thought out and well designed product. Our first job with them will be at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, on a huge exhibition stand over 80m long. It is our biggest show of the year and we needed an LED batten that was affordable yet bright enough for this huge stand."
David Faulkes, Miltec's sales director added, "This is a milestone for this product and shows that it has become one of the Industry Standards. We now have 60 companies stocking this batten and sales show no sign of decreasing. It just shows what can be achieved with a cost-effective product that has been researched and designed by industry specialists in the UK rather than just buying in a ready-made unit. This product fits in well with our drive to bring design and manufacturing back to the UK for both audio and lighting products."
In addition to the battens, Push also bought six of the new MTC-360WZ LED moving head washes. The 360WZ is fitted with 36x 10W quadcolour LEDs and a zoom lens.
