The Club, known locally as Sporties, has been extensively renovated over the past two years to include a new gaming room, TAB, bar, café and multiple lounge areas. In an attempt to make the Club more family friendly, they have also added a kids club called Manta Ray, an outdoor play gym and are building a parents room at the present time.
The aim was to create a comfortable environment with relaxed areas for people to unwind in however the Club's neighbours and poker machine players were not relaxing when the amplified music began.
"We have large volumes of people here on Friday and Saturday nights for our live entertainment and other attractions," commented Tracey Van Rossum, general manager of Sporties. "Unfortunately the noise was travelling quite a distance and keeping our neighbours awake."
Initially considered double-glazing the club's windows but then she came across the Jbn Sound Ceiling which provided a better long term solution without altering the building structure.
"It meant that we could also control the noise inside our venue," said Van Rossum. "The Club's design is very open-plan but with the Jbn Sound Ceiling we can have the loud music where we want it to be heard."
The installation of the Jbn Sound Ceiling speaker system consisted of the latest upgrade in technology from the Swedish manufacturer. Consisting of 45 tiles located directly above the dance floor and traditional speakers located around the system as room-fill.
