After extensive tests, the team led by managing director Luc Chassot, decided in favour of 12 EV XLD 281 three-way enclosures, along with four EV XLC 215 and eight EV Xi1191 subwoofers. "What impressed us above all about the system was its outstanding sound quality," explains Luc Chassot. "That was the most powerful argument in its favour. The fact it is also ultra-compact and therefore enormously versatile made this a pretty easy decision for us."
The first test for the new PA came at the recently inaugurated St. Prex Festival at the end of August. A top-level cultural event featuring a high-calibre line-up, including the soprano Irène Maessen and dancers from the Béjart Ballet choreographed by Cecilia Mones-Ruiz and Mateusz Kowalek, the festival on the shore of Lake Geneva provided the EV XLD and XLC systems with an opportunity to demonstrate their sonic homogeneity. They did not disappoint. "Classical music that imposes the most stringent demands upon PA systems," says Chassot. "The clarity of reproduction is particularly important. The EV system passed the test with flying colours."
