As a result of HK Audio's performance at Music Live 2002 and the 2003 London Guitar Show, HK's pro audio systems were again used exclusively throughout Music Live 2003. Capable of offering powerful yet detailed sound, HK Audio represented the ideal pro audio choice for the varied range of audio challenges at the show. With the stadium-friendly R-Series taking care of the main stage acts, HK Audio's range of self-powered active systems proved a popular option for performers and exhibitors alike.
"We've now built up quite a lot of concert stage experience with the HK Audio R-Series system at shows like Music Live," comments Q Audio sound engineer, Lez Patterson, who was operating the desk in the main hall. "Their systems work really well at gigs like this, where a diverse line-up of acts needs a versatile and sympathetic sound, but with real power behind it for maximum effect in a big hall."
Matt Smith agrees: "At Music Live, I played on the main stage through the big R-Series system, on the JHS stand through an E.L.I.A.S. system and in Seminar Room 1 through an ACTOR system. I use a lot of different Ovation instruments, from a guitar in a Hawaiian tuning that I use slide on to an Ovation Celebrity mandolin, with some vocals and backing tracks thrown in for good measure, and each HK Audio system worked really well with whatever I was doing."
