Eight teams of three players, a smaller pitch, no changing of ends after each goal, point incentives for long shots on goal, hard plastic balls to give players more length to their shots and full match video coverage with live competitor commentary have updated the glamorous game of Polo to make the sport faster and harder in a similar way to how Twenty20 has changed the game of cricket.
Contracted by World Polo Ltd., Dimension Audio provided full audio facilities for the three day event. Control and playback in the form of LS9-16 and Instant Replay 360 were used whilst 16 EV XLEs, six d&b QSubs, four EM Acoustic EM122, eight turbo sound Impact 50s and four Ci80s were positioned around the pitch supplying the sound in addition to the accompanying amplifiers.
Furthermore, in excess of 2000m of speaker cabling was provided to facilitate the audio solutions, taking three days to be laid before the event began.
James Loveless, Dimension Audio's project manager, commented, "It was a fantastic event which has hada great response from the public. I am very pleased as to how well our equipment complemented this exciting event."
Paul Vernon, the event director commented, "Dimension Audio has provided us with great audio facilities for this year's tournament. Only in its second year, we look forward to this event going from strength to strength, becoming one of the main summer events of the social scene."
