Felton, whose extensive experience spans both the commercial and public sectors, said, 'I am extremely pleased to be joining Creative & Cultural Skills when there is so much potential for future development. I have a passionate commitment to skills, training and professional development and believe that there is much more work to be done on this within the creative and cultural industries.
"We will continue to campaign to ensure that education and training genuinely meets the needs of those we represent, and to ensure that the voices of employers across the UK are being heard. I look forward to working with Creative & Cultural Skills' committed staff, trustees, stakeholders and partners to make this happen."
Felton's previous work includes interim management positions at The Junction, Hayward Gallery, Welsh National Opera, English National Opera and the Royal Shakespeare Company. She has worked as an advisor to arts organisations large and small, as well as Arts Council England and the Cultural Leadership Programme.
David Worthington, who has taken over from the recently ennobled Tony Hall as acting chairman, said, "I am delighted that Caroline is joining us. With our new licence to operate awarded at the end of last year, we are in good shape to reinforce and build upon the work that Tony and Tom began. Continuing to serve our sectors to the best of our ability remains our primary focus."
Creative & Cultural Skills is governed by an industry-led Board of Trustees, led by David Worthington and made up of key representatives from across the creative and cultural industries.
