The demonstration will include how the software links with other office applications such as database and spreadsheets. Solid Edge is made up of various elements including 'Design and Drafting', 'Part Modelling and Assembly' and 'Sheet Metal'. A vast library of case hardware has been produced using a powerful set of tools, most of which using the 'Sheet Metal' section of Solid Edge.
Visitors will be able to see the assembly of virtual cases which of course, are real-time meaning that the geometry is actual size of the proposed finished case. Any faults of design can immediately be seen on screen, as the model can be rotated, panned and zoomed in free space. Other features including Drafts, a traditional style technical drawing, Exploded Views and CNC ready geometry will also be demonstrated. Xpress Review, a client based free program on CD will be available at the show, which enables clients to view and mark-up virtual models and return to 5 Star for evaluation and amendment. Finally, photo realistic rendered images can be produced using 'Virtual Studio', another package within the Solid Edge system.
