Once the design had been verified, various renderings of the trunk was e-mailed to Blackburn based HSL who were the first to benefit from this updated designed trunk and placed an order for 167 units. Minor modifications were carried out to the 'model' to cater for HSL's specific requirements. The trunks house twin moving light units, however a unique feature is the option to add a separate door to convert the trunk into a single unit. Another key feature of the updated design is the lift height to remove the light is only around 20mm. Once this 20mm is cleared, thelight is then simply withdrawn horizontally to aid handling. Transportation on the Robe 1200AT trunk, also benefits from the 'quarter pack' design. Other features include storage boxes within the trunk for the different lens options as well as hook clamps and safety wires. This design is now being adapted for most other moving head luminaires.
The first batch of 15 went immediatley to the Indian Film Awards at Xcel in London's Docklands. All units subsequently were delivered to Robe in the Czech Republic and from there, on to the Ukraine for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. This year's ESC to be staged in Kiev in May, HSL will be collaborating with Spectra Plus by providing over 200 fixtures for the event which attracts viewers in excess of 300 million around the world.
