A previous New Technology Showcase at RCSSD's Embassy Theatre
UK - White Light, the Association of Lighting Designers, and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama are teaming up once again to present the New Technology Showcase, an opportunity to see and interact with the latest lighting technology in a theatre environment.

Held at RCSSD's Embassy Theatre on 24 January, the event promises to get to the heart of new fixtures and the features that designers and technicians want to see, without the pressure of a sales pitch. To complete the day, the highly anticipated annual ALD Pub Quiz will immediately follow the showcase.

Coordinated by White Light hire business development manager Craig Bennett, the afternoon event will showcase new products from leading lighting manufacturers. Featured products include the Altman LED Phoenix profile and Spectra Cyc 100, Chromlech Elidy S Panel, Clay Paky B-Eye, JB Lighting Sparx7 wash, Martin Professional Viper Performance and Viper Wash DX, and Robe Pointe.

The annual event is changing format this year, giving visitors the same opportunity to demo new products as in years past but with a more interactive setup and dedicated demonstration time for each fixture. "This is one of our favourite events to host," says Bennett, "because it's an opportunity to really see the new technology in action. It is rare that designers and technicians have the chance to just play with new kit in a theatrical space without the pressure of lighting a show or putting on an event. Combining it with the ALD Pub Quiz makes it a great day all around."

White Light will work with a team of students from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to pre-rig, load-in, programme, and strike the showcase - providing valuable work experience to the students, many who are due to enter the workforce within the next year.

The New Technology Showcase will take place on 24 January from 1pm to 5pm at the Embassy Theatre in London. The event is open to all and guests can register for free online at newtechshow.eventbrite.co.uk.
