Successfully concluding their first year of operation as Simply By Others LLC (Simply By Others) principal designers David LaVigna and Ellen Lampros of the Connecticut-based themed architectural and fibre optic system design firm announced a number of new initiatives this month, signifying the further growth of the company - new offices, new corporate identity, new web site and several new projects.

In August, the company relocated to new headquarters at 415 Main Street, Suite B, Ridgefield, CT 06879. New phone and fax numbers are +1 203 894 8605 and +1 203 894 8655 respectively. Concurrent with the move, the company launched its revamped web site at www.simplybyothers.com and new corporate identity.

On the project front, design work has begun on Strike Long Island, the third facility that the company has designed for Strike Holdings. This will join sister facilities Bowlmor Lanes in Manhattan and Strike Bethesda in Maryland as specialized entertainment environments in the Northeast. Strike Long Island is a 55,000sq.ft facility housing an electric racetrack, a VIP lounge, Sushi bar, 36 bowling lanes and three bars. Simply By Others is designing a lighting system that offers an alternative to traditional bowling alley lighting, using entertainment fixtures such as High End Systems’ ColorPro and new C16 architectural luminaires with colour changing and both spot/wash options. Supported by ET Capio dimming, the entire system is controlled from Entertainment Technology’s Horizon Playback Gold and Crestron touch screens.

David LaVigna designed the system to provide remote access to programming functions via a high-speed internet connection. The cueing was pre-programmed at Prelite NY on a WYSIWYG system. The company also recently completed the lighting for the GQ Lounge, a special event GQ Magazine is hosting at the Pressure Lounge in Manhattan during September. Featuring a number of interactive demonstrations of sponsoring companies representing the latest in fashion, the GQ Lounge is open to the public during the month, and is also used for sponsored special events by supporting sponsors. The lighting package was provided by New York’s Big Apple Lights.
