"In its simplest form, Multiple Emulation Mode allows our users to have the PC connected for matrixing and system diagnostics, while the consoles control the gain of Optocore's microphone preamps," states Optocore sales and marketing director, Tine Helmle. "In more advanced set-ups multiple consoles can control the gain of networked preamps - even if these are different brands, operating in parallel."
However, the biggest benefit comes when using Optocore's Dual-Mic preamps, where users can have up to four individually-controlled preamps for a single microphone. For the first time ever, this feature gives users real analogue control over the preamp.
The new MEM software will receive an early high profile debut at this Autumn's 19th Commonwealth Games, where workflow and signal transport will be optimised in the broadcast centre, allowing up to four different digital consoles to control various third party devices on an Optocore network.
