Based on Clear-Com's advanced I.V.Core Technology, HelixNet is designed to break down the conventional barriers between intercom technologies, combining exceptional audio quality and network flexibility with cabling simplicity and system intelligence. Clear-Com products are distributed exclusively in the UK by Orbital.
Orbital's sales director Tom Byrne comments, "Although we all use analogue wired communications on a day-to-day basis, we're finding that the demands for high quality and more complex configurations are pushing standard analogue comms to their limits. Digital wired comms is without doubt the way forward, and Clear-Com's HelixNet system is the first digital wired comms system that can use existing or low budget wiring infrastructure. With HelixNet, we are seeing the introduction of a new generation of affordable, reliable, expandable and future proof comms systems."
The Yamaha CL Series mixer will also be taking a central position on the stand, with Orbital being one of the first UK companies to invest in the new product. Orbital announced its decision to commit to the CL Series at the Frankfurt launch this spring, building on its long-standing relationship with Yamaha's mixing technology.
As an authorised d&b auditotechnik sales and installation partner, Orbital will also be highlighting the new V-Series, which offers a highly efficient and flexible stand-alone three-point flying system with outstanding clarity, dynamic bandwidth, power capabilities and headroom.
On the Shure radio microphone front, Orbital has just added the Axient system to its sales portfolio, as well as being named as a Shure UK Axient programme partner.
Amongst Orbital's other star turns for ABTT will be the latest CSC Theatrical/Live Sound Show Control Software package for Windows XP/Vista/7 - now available in two versions.
Orbital is also showing the flexible and resilient Que Audio Micro Microphone range, as well as the HME DX 210 two-channel intercom system, and a cross-section of d&b audiotechnik's Black Range and White Range loudspeakers. Members of the Orbital team will also be on hand to discuss its associated theatre sound consultancy services, across Noise-at-Work assessments, and theatre sound training.
Orbital is running a one-hour seminar during ABTT entitled Click Tracks, Sound Effects, and Control: What are the big shows doing? looking at how the big shows out on the road are dealing with everyday issues against a background of fast technological changes. The seminar will look at soundscape design, click track playback and control systems, using a current major UK tour to illustrate how the systems need to be simple, reliable, yet powerful to achieve the designer's and director's vision.
