UK - Theatre sound specialist Orbital is pleased to announce another hugely successful showcase as part of The ABTT Theatre Show (14-15 June, Royal Horticultural Halls, London). Having exhibited at the show for eight consecutive years', the company claimed a record traffic flow on their stand over the two-day event, which underlines the Show's position as a key event in Orbital's marketing calendar.

Scoring a hat-trick for Orbital at the ABTT's annual industry awards and gala dinner, its CSC Show Control software scooped the Sound Product of the Year award. Representing the third time the company has received this prestigious accolade, CSC is solely distributed by Orbital, and offers a unique blend of flexibility and ease of use. It delivers an advanced software based sound playback and system control to a wider audience.

Robin Townley, the ABTT's Honorary Secretary, presented the award to Orbital's Richard Carter and says: "The ABTT was very impressed by the development of a product specifically for theatrical show control at an accessible cost, which in its design has been so well informed by the genuine requirements of sound designers for the dramatic arts. The option of two levels of installation seemed appropriate for universal adoption of this undoubtedly useful tool from venues with the most modest budgets to those running the most sophisticated shows. The systems' intuitive and familiar control interfaces will be recognisable to every user and allow them to find the facility they are seeking with ease and speed. The ABTT considered that CSC was a considerable advance in the provision of quality applications for the Theatre Technician working with sound."

Orbital's head of Sales, Tom Byrne, added: "We've always felt that the show is a key industry event, but this year the whole team was flat out dealing with both sales and rental enquires. We experienced enormous interest for the new Zaxcom ultra high quality radio mic system, which made its UK debut at the show. As a system that will set the benchmark for audio quality in theatre, it has already been deployed on "Sunday in the Park with George" - the highly acclaimed Sondheim musical, currently running at The Wyndams. Plus we received a host of orders for HME's DX200 duplex wireless comms packages. Since the launch of HME's ComLink all in one head-set option, there has been an unprecedented demand for this practical and flexible comms solution."

Orbital will be exhibiting its products and services across its Sales and Rental divisions at The ABTT Theatre Show 2007, 13-14th June, Royal Horticultural Halls, London.
