The European-designed Da-Cappo capsule is the result of extensive research in the field of precision-hearing instrumentation, measuring a discrete 2.5mm in diameter and combining market-leading performance with a flat frequency response, exceptional EMI protection and unparalleled resilience against sweat and water, says the company. Da-Cappo's latest product release - the DA-15 single-ear microphone with an in-ear monitor piece - was singled out at the 2009 AES, winning the Award for Innovation.
Da-Cappo's claim to have designed a genuinely water-resistant range attracted the attention of Orbital Sound's MD Chris Headlam, as he explains: "Da-Cappo caught our eye with its design innovation, tiny size and its claim to be water-resistant. We put them to the test and couldn't believe how good they are on all levels - unlike many competitive products that fail when exposed to sweat or water, Da-Cappo's mics can be simply shaken dry and just go on working. The sound quality is up there with the best, they are truly reliable and the smallest available in their class."
Da-Cappo's Alan Greensall comments, "We are really pleased to be working with Orbital and look forward to a growing take-up of the Da-Cappo brand in the UK. Over the past 18 months, we have established a credible user base in repertory theatre, for example with both the RSC and the National Theatre. We are now confident that Orbital will further enhance this, taking Da-Cappo into the wider theatre sector. Orbital, with its professional approach to the market and ability to offer complete solutions, is the perfect business partner for the Da-Cappo brand."
