Outline H.A.R.D. 212 is only 33cms in height and weighs in at a remarkable 26kg. The 2 x 12" design which incorporates the patent-pending horn technology invented by Guido Noselli, utilizes absorption, reflection and diffraction to achieve its performance. This bi-amped traditionally amplified monitor has recently been joined by a self-powered version - the H.A.R.D 212 SP - where the cabinet incorporates two channels of digital power amplification and DSP with the weight barely affected.
Noselli believes that virtually all speaker cabinets will be self-powered in the future: "There are great advantages which are far outweighed by the disadvantages. I know that there is a fear in the industry that if a power module fails it is impossible to rectify during the show, surely the same would happen if a speaker went down. Amplifiers are now so reliable that the chances of failure are very remote".
H.A.R.D. 212 is also now joined by a single 15" version that also incorporates the H.A.R.D. technology - the H.A.R.D. 115.
