UAE - In December 2012, the two worlds largest Barco video screens were installed on a part of The Dubai Mall Metro Link Travelator project.

Both screens, one on the Downtown side and one on the Creek side of the fly-over, are 20m wide and 12 m high.

The Metro link of 820m is one of the longest pedestrian walkways linking the Dubai Metro directly to the Burj Khalifa/The Dubai Mall and is expected to significantly enhance the convenience of visitors to the mall and the Burj Khalifa.

At its peak capacity the travelators can carry over 13.500 people per hour. The complete travelator project was developed by the Emaar Properties PJSC.

The big video screens have been installed by Zio-Technologies and in cooperation with Mr. Sanjeev Nar Singh of AAVISS the decision was made for the four Pan Beam PB248 systems which have been installed on the left and right side of each screen.

The choice for the Pan Beam systems was made due to its flexibility in installation and the intuitive software offering a four beam technology, of which three beams were used for a perfect intelligable sound distribution over a 100m from the screens.

All parties involved in the project where very happy with the clean and musical fidelity of this very prestigious project that was, after completing the install, visited by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
