Durban based rental company, Hirezone Audio Visual, provided the full technical at The Wavehouse including lighting, sound, av, staging and screens. The Robins came out to play, and while most of the fixtures were rigged on the Prolyte Ground Support and on two Prolyte bars above the stage, some were also placed on the stage for beam work. Philips Selecon Profiles were utilised for flood lighting and LED parcans added colour.
"The Parlotones were excellent," commented Richard Gild from Hirezone. "I have a new found respect for them and on stage they rock." Gild adds the entire show ran like clock-work and his client, Kilowatt, were happy with the outcome.
For the haze effects, two MVS Hazers were used as preferred by The Parlotones. "The MVS has a much finer gas and doesn't affect the voices of the band," said Gild.
Travis Yeatman, familiar LD and operator for The Parlotones, worked his magic on an Avolites Tiger Touch.
Lighting aside, the team at Hirezone were thrilled to use the full d&b uudiotechnik J Series. "It was phenomenal," said Gild. "It's the ultimate sound system."
An inflatable 'M', for Super M (South African's popular flavoured drinking milk), was positioned on stage. Mapping and projection of designs by two double stacked Christie HD10K-M Projectors onto the inflatable M was used for the opening of the show.
